As your career progresses, you may have lost that “newbie” hunger for knowledge that helped jumpstart your career.
Classic Habits Think back to the beginning of your career and how you used to navigate your day before email, technology, and social media invaded every waking moment. What routines ensured you got the most out of every day? You probably planned every working hour like your paycheck depended on it… because it did! Cold calls, sales quotas, research, habit stacking, dedicated email times, etc. These strict habits turned your paycheck into a career.
Classic Networking You know how to meet people and make friends. However, your professional network may be stagnant as work, travel, and family obligations have demanded more of your time. Make time for new connections and use LinkedIn to reconnect with former colleagues.
Classic Learning Ask all the questions. Just because you are 30 years into your dream career does not mean you have to stop learning. So, pose them (even the hard ones) to your clients, your employees–even yourself, and be honest with the answers. You will discover what is and is not working. From there, you can determine the next steps to success.
The things that made you successful in the beginning of your career will still make you successful today. Revisit the classic routines, habits, and practices of past success to reinvigorate your career!
